These three photos were taken in the same place, in fact on the same day, but not in the UK. Can anybody ID them

OK, I'll have a stab.
The first photo is of some geese, which are obviously grey geese. They have contrasingly dark heads, which I guess would mean they were Pink-footed of Bean. Just because they're not in the UK I'm going to go for Bean. Are the other two photos of the same species?

Graham,

You are quite right, they are Bean, both Tiaga & Tundra are here.

The birds in the other two photos winter here, around 300,000 about two thirds of the world population.

And I was going to suggest that they were mosquitos in pics 2 and 3 :laugh:

I'm guessing but I've heard about this strange spectacle - are they Baikal Teal?

Hi Mark,

You are right, they are Baikal Teal. There were an estimated 250,000 flying around doing a marvelous display, while around 40,000 + Bean Geese were flying back and forth from the fields. A fantastic sight
