Missed the bird by 30seconds!!
Got there late last night (8:40pm) setting up the scope and whilst doing so it was being seen flying a flitting about, scopes were up ready to watch... the bird had disappeared into a bush (roosting)? Slept overnight but no sign of the bird!! It doesnt help that i live 2hours away but hey... you win some you lose some! Lets hope it gets refound and stays for a while?!? First bird i saw when i woke up was a great white egret flying north over the heath, herd nightjars, turtle doves, cuckoo, atleast a douzon dartford warblers, 3+ woodlarks and i was kept awake by a nightingale!!!
cheers andy

For some reason, we went today on the reported singing sighting. Shame but some great Dartfords there, and RFF in Beds on the way home.
Andy, did you get anyone else on to the egret? There were alot of confused birders around when they heard about it.

Unfortunately not it was first thing, we stayed down there and i woke up and looked out the car window and saw an egret flying, got my bin's on it and saw that it was a GW. The person i was with, was asleep so it was just me that saw it.
