going down to the coast for the american golden plover tomorow and the garganey too

you seen American Golden Plover before joe? Its a species that avoids me! They turn up anywhere really in the country so... hopefully im lucky this year. Cant go for it this weekend as im doing norfolk, (orioles and nightjars) but maybe it will stay around?

well there is a little bit of embarresment t be had by a few birders as this "american golen plover" which was showing well turned out to be a grey plover hmmmm.
oh well im going down for the garganey anyway

It's a grey plover
- don't that let that stop you going to Keyhaven though - a great spot for birding (at least for Hants..)

Hi Alan,
Any photos anywhere of the Grey Plover? would be interested to have a look as we had a (presumably) 1st summer Grey at Scotney a couple of weekends ago which looked interesting until it flapped it's wings - never mind.
