Hi,
A few must-haves if you're coming to Ireland with birding in mind;
http://www.castlebar.ie/clubs/mayo-birdwatch/ Should provide details of birds in Co. Mayo
http://shop.birdwatchireland.ie/birdwatchireland/product_reviews_info.php?products_id=489&reviews_id=8 Invaluable book just released with up to date maps and sites etc.
BINS (Birds of Ireland News Service): 1550111700 (Gives up to date info concerning rare birds in Ireland). Similarly, www.irishbirding.com is an online source of the same info.
BINS Contact No: 018307364 (Should you be fortunate enough to find your own rares).
Finally, Nimmo's Pier in Galway city is the best place in that area to see American Gulls.
Enjoy your trip!
