This has me completely stumped. I've searched pix of every butterfly that is listed for Egypt without success. This is the only pic of the only one I have ever seen here and I didn't get a glimpse of the top of the wings. It was seen in a botanical garden in central Cairo.
:puzzled:

My initial thought was that is was a skipper but I couldn't find anything that resembled it. I would appreciate your help.

Torben L....n is the author of Butterflies of Egypt, available from the American University in Cairo Press and from Apollo Books in Steenstrup, Denmark, and of The Butterflies of Kenya and Their Natural History.

These I have used before as both ranges overlap

Its a Zeller's skipper, Borbo borbonica which is lighter than usual.
