Bluebird on Back in Bath

I’m looking for some clarification on something I saw (or thought I saw). I was watching an Eastern Bluebird in a bath, and it looked to me that he was flipping over onto his back. I have never seen that before. Is that common? Is it even physically possible? Has anyone else seen this type of behavior?
