Just returned from a birding trip to the Danube Delta and Dobrogea, Romania. We spent some time boating in the Delta and the Razím lagoon. In the middle of the lagoon I found this moulting adult Great Black-headed Gull. I guess this species is not an extreme rarity in Dobrogea and the Delta as it breeds on the other side of the Black Sea. Anyway I still find it an interesting record.
The whole trip has been very exciting with nice number of birds recorded. Loved to be in the small lagoons of the Delta. I just can recommend for everyone planning a trip to Danube Delta.
