I'm attending a conference in Busan, towards the end of September and will have enough free time for some birding. Can anyone suggest some good locations on the coast or inland within easy reach of the city?

I will also spend a couple of days in Seoul for dawn and dusk bird patrols and tourist sites in between.

might be worth contacting BirdsKorea - their website has info on birding sites and Nial Moores (one of the founders) offers guiding.
