I will be in Cape Town for five days around 23 November. Any advice on finding a day guide?

My advice would be to save your money! Get the Callan Cohen Cape Province site guide (rather than the new Southern Africa one) and you're likely to find all you need yourself. Do the Cape Peninsula, Overberg, West Coast National Park and surrounding area and somewhere like Sir Lowry's for fynbos and you could get all you need (with the possible exception of Hottentot Buttonquail) in three or four days, leaving one day for a pelagic if there's one going. I'll gladly provide details of where I got what and how easily, etc, if you email me.

Best regards, and good luck

this is an excellent site guide if you're happy going it alone.
lots of advice on the website if you don't want to get the guidebook

the birding africa guys are very good an can be very helpful too; if you'd like a guide, i'd try them first.
