This was seen in a rural area on the outskirts of Cairo at the beginning of August.
Apologies for the quality of the image.

Hi Jacqueline,
Your flower is Phyla nodiflora. It is pretty common in coastal areas of the eastern Med. from Turkey east and south. It is a low, creeping plant forming dense mats. The flowers can vary from deep purple-pink to pale pink, almost white. Sadly the picture in the most readily available field guide (Blamey & Grey-Wilson's Mediterranean Wild Flowers) is dreadful, but try googling the name on Google images and you should find some better pictures.
Cheers

You're good. I'm so glad you joined SB!
Its such a pretty flower that I will attempt to get some better images in varying shades.
Best wishes.
