These images were taken yesterday. It is a sprawling plant with some of the stems more than a metre in length. There is a profusion on hairs on the stems, backs of the leaves and around the insignificant but attractive flowers. The flowers are approximately a centimetre in diametre. I haven't a clue what it is.:puzzled:

Hi Jacqueline,
Looks like Withania somnifera, a poisonous member of the nightshade family. It's common in the Eastern Med. and tends to vary quite a bit in the amount of hairiness, probably according to local growing conditions.
Cheers

Thanks Mikey.
It certainly is Withania somnifera and I have been able to confirm that it grows naturally in Egypt.
Best wishes.
