I have no idea if this has been flagged before, but whilst looking through images in the albums I came across these.

And then there are these.

[scroll down just a little - this a great site btw, with loads of ace images of birds in Kuwait]

Which is worse? One is a poor country, in which geese no doubt provide a valuable addition to the diet (still sickening though); the other, a wealthy oil-rich country, where the 'sport' seems to be driving round in expensive 4WD vehicles and shooting anything in the name of entertainment.

Roumania is now in the EEC so should be subjected to laws regulating hunting. Not that entry into Europe has changed much in Malta yet.

It is not at all uncommon to see sickening hunting in Middle East countries. When I was spending time working with conservationists in Jordan I heard of stories of Saudi royalty illegally crossing the border to shoot particularly sandgrouse but also the rare and endangered Arabian oryx which where in an enormous fenced enclosure.

The Saudis (because of their oil) get away with anything somer of it worse than shooting wildlife. They also use falcons to hunt bustards and other bird species.

Hi Brian,
Those are italian birdkillers as stated in the link. I don't think they need all those poor geese for their pasta. Unfortunately they like doing the same in many other poor countries, without any control. Not sure who gets their money in Romania but I don't think it is some poor guy...
Spaniards are also joining the hunting-abroad community and I'm sure also unscrupulous hunters from other european countries, too too bad, it is big money bussiness.
Cheers,
Eduardo

Sorry, I didn't pick up the fact they were Italian hunters.

They are not "hunters" Brian, they are moronic killers of birds for so-called "sport".

I cannot find the link at the moment, but one of the main target species of "Eyetie Killers" is the Goliath Heron - they pay big money to slaughter this species on organised "safaris".

What a load of useless f*****g b******s they are.

What's going on in Kuwait doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
They let horses die of thirst or simply shoot them, they abandon dogs in 45celsius, just because they are going on vacation.

There are good people and people that care as well, but sadly enough insanity is still the major rule there.

In areas like Jahra you can do whatever pleases you. Nobody that would question, no police, nothing.

The Photographer is quite lucky that they didn't see him.
