Hello,
I took the attached photo on a recent trip to Peru and I can't find a decent match to any of the illustrations in my books (Birds of Peru, Birds of South America, HBW). Does anyone have any ideas?
It was photographed on 10th December 2008 on the approach road to Machu Picchu (altitude approx. 2000m).
Thanks,
Ray

I'd say that's a Brown-capped Vireo (Vireo leucophrys).
Cheers,

and not uncommon there or at Aguas Calientes either

lack of wing-bars, shorter tail and slight hooked-tip to bill point to BC Vireo rather than a tyrannulet - of which there are many confusing examples there!

Many thanks for everyone's help. No wonder I couldn't find it among the Tyrannidae!
