In June and July I will be in Thailand and I want to go down into Peninsular Malaysia by train or bus. I have heard that there is terrorist activity in the border area (Hala Bala, for example, is said to be 'unsafe'). So, is it still possible to travel by train or bus between the two countries?

Cheers

Hi VB

I wouldn't worry at all - take the train if you are at all concerned though

probably you're more in danger of getting pnuemonia or hypothermia from the excessive air con in the Malaysian buses!

Great, many thanks Forktail. Not so much as a sniff of an answer on another forum, so many thanks for that. Should be a good trip, Singapore, Oz then Thailand and Malaysia.

Sounds like a great adventure Faye - what are you taking with you to save and "back-up" your photos on this trip?

Hi Colin, I have a Jobo Giga One Ultra photo downloader, but I might take a laptop with me as well because my Giga One is only 40GB and I can easily take 10GB of photos in one session!
