Definitely plastic.

Pretty sure there's been a Hooded Merg or something similar on that very pond for a couple of years now.... and Epping Forest in general has a reputation for dodgy wildfowl, Connaught Water in particular.

true, but probably less so in this instance when there was a pair at the same site in spring 2006.....
