I think the pale rump is an illusion. The tail fork doesn't look deep enough either. I would think Pallid Swift

That was my first thought as well Mark, especially the comment regarding the tail fork not being deep enough.
Maybe we should club together and buy Geoff a new camera and/or lens so we don't have to endure these 'orrible shots :wink:

Well done Mark - spot on. The pale rump is just an illusion brought on by the strong sunlight, and clearly a trap for the unwary.
