for the last couple of weeks now, we have been woken by a carrion crow that likes to keep flying into our kitchen window! this is no accident either, it perches on a post and keeps on doing it! but as soon as i approach the windo upstairs, it flys off! this is certainly the weirdest bird behaviour i have ever seen!
anyone noticed this strange behaviour?

It sees its reflection in the window, thinks it is another crow invading its territory, and then attacks it to chase it away.

I think crows ARE more territorial....see granny's tale and the expulsion of 'George' from his birthplace. His parents were viscious with him.... For other reasons (garden reflection I imagine) I have to keep an almost permanent 'hospital' for kamikaze birds who fly joyfully into my windows and knock themselves out. Solution: to apply 'stickers' to the windows mostly all year round....which makes cleaning them extremely complicated....but better than dead birds!
