Ok ok, so perhaps i should still be in hiding after my last attempt at this  but i couldnt resist with this image i accidentally captured today. Besides i am 100% sure of the I.D of this one :err: and have photo's as evidence (This probably means it will be guessed first time though!)

Good luck,
James

Northern Wheatear

It is not a Chaffinch, I can see why Steve has suggested Northern Wheatear but I have never seen Wheatear in that sort of setting.

So, my only suggestion (which no-one can refute) is "Bird's ....".

Will look again tomorrow.

First impression was a moulting Bearded Reedling, but I can't tell if the tail is missing or just bent over at one side.

Not a Chaffinch, not a Northern Wheatear nor is it a Bearded Reedling. The Habitat in the picture is misleading (which is why its a good one  )

Keep guessing!

The 'habitat' is a willow, so it's presumably a bird that doesn't often go in willows . . . I'll try Reed Warbler

Damn! I gave the game away to soon, well done Michael, Reed Warbler it is. ( I was going to give a cryptic clue about not reading to much into the habitat  )

I had to wait for ages to get a shot of this fella, a pair had a nest in a reed bed (just out of shot) and i could hear them coming and going but couldn't work out where they were exiting the reed bed.

Anyway here is a evidential shot of the bird (in case i have mis-id'd a Gray Heron or something

Maybe it is training to be a Willow Warbler . . .
