Greylags, with that pale grey patch on the outer forewing. Bean has an all-dark upperwing.

But is there not too much white around the "nether regions" for Greylag (looking especially at the left-hand bird in Michael's second shot)?
Colin :err:
Not too familiar with geese down here (although have had two Brent in the past 13 years), and can't get a real "bronze" turkey, so we have settled for a a duck (indeterminate species) for Christmas Day!!

I'm interested by the question as it implies an ID feature to look for that I'm not currently aware of - exactly which tracts do you mean by the "nether regions"? Which of the "nether regions" should be more extensively white on a Bean Goose than on a Greylag?
Anyway, whatever the question means, the answer must be no as these birds are clearly Greylags. Among other things, the contrastingly pale underwing-coverts clinch the birds where you can't see the pale outer forewing which Michael mentioned.

And anyway, it's derbyshire, not the nether lands . . .
