I spotted this very large young gull in Bahrain last Friday, it must have been 2.5 to 3 times bigger than a BH gull. Any pointers towards it's identification are welcome.
Thanks

Howard, a very knowledgeable friend tended to shy away from Caspian due to,the bill being too stout with a pronounced goyns.
Have a good trip and watch out for that snow.

Hello Adrian.
Your very knowledgeable friend is correct when leaving cachinnans out of the equation. Thatīs about as wise we will get on the gull in question imo. A further set of images might possibly narrow the gulls identity down a bit further, heuglini or barabensis or even something else. You know the situasion Adrian.

Hello Jan,
Long time no see. Yes, I know the situation with these gulls, they are difficult to pin down. Sorry I did not get any more shots as he took off but thanks anyway.
