  • Bluebirds nesting

I'm new to this site and hoping this is the best place to post my question...
I have a pair of Eastern Bluebirds nesting in a nest box in my backyard. We have a sparrow spook in place, eggs have hatched, and all seems to be going well. We recently put up another nest box and within days a pair of HOSP started nesting in it. I'm aware that they are a non-native species and should be discouraged from nesting in boxes, however, I've also read that they will sometimes retaliate by invading nestboxes nearby if their own nest is destroyed. I want to keep our bluebirds safe. Is it better to let the HOSP have the empty box, or should I pitch the nest?
