  • Birding Greenland

I'll be visiting Iceland this summer (non-birding issues) Because I have a great interest in the glaucoides/kumlieni/thayeri complex I think it might not be a bad idea to spend some time in Greenland as well in order to increase my knowledge on glaucoides. For me, the easiest/cheapest way would be to fly from Reyckjavik to Nuuk but I find very little information on what numbers of gulls I could expect in Nuuk harbour in early july. Any kind of help/advise would be much appreciated.

    kind regards,

You might get a better response posting this request on the Netfugl forums as there are plenty of Danish birders who have experience of Greenland in summer, and I'm sure one or two Netfugl members live in Nuuk. I've seen reasonable numbers of glaucoides on Greenland's magnificent east coast (Ammassilik area) in summer, but far fewer than I see in Iceland in winter.
