I just launched that site rencently and wanted to invite you personnally to my website's forum.
I hope to have some professional bird photographer come and post pics on my boards.
I really hope to see you there!
How did you get on at Taba Heights? I'm off there in Aug and am keen to get birding info..
I've just returned from a trip to Beirut where I didn't have the relevant information you need. I have stayed at all the hotels in Taba Heights so if you tell me where you are staying I can perhaps be more specific. How long are you there for so I can advise of trips from Taba?
Colin, didn't get quite right!!! I'm a editor of two magazines one of which is dedicated to sport including golf. But golf courses here are superb for wildlife. Unfortunately I spent most of my time interviewing ministers, politicians, entrepreneurs and actors etc for the other publication.
I have just commented on your Black-headed Gull photo which made me look at the camera which you are using.
You say that this is the first bird in flight shot that you were happy with. Looking at the settings available for your camera, I would go for aperature priority and continuous AF (CAF) in the 2.5s burst mode. The first shot may fail to focus properly but subsequent shots should be in focus, particlarly in a clear sky situation like the one you have posted. I hope that I am not teaching you to suck eggs but this advice is given to assist.
