    Perhaps your thread should have been titled Common (Eurasian) Snipe in California. It looks cast iron to me. The photos are also very useful for those on this side of the Atlantic, reinforcing how distinctive Wilson's can be.

    Is this the purported Common Snipe shot by a hunter in Southeastern California recently? I think California's only Jack Snipes were hunters trophies as well as the first few Baikal Teal.
