I found this Canada Goose just to the west of Belmullet (Mayo) during the morning of Saturday 7th. It was keeping close company with three Greenland White-fronts.
- dark-bodied (including dark breast)
- long, snaky neck
- apparent partial chin strap
- size larger and bulkier (perhaps by as much as 30% or so) to nearby GWFGs
Is it a large, dark Todd's type or something else? I'm happy to admit I'm useless with Canada Geese; this is the first Cat A bird I've ever found so must say I've never really spent time studying them.
