I totalled 15 species visiting our birdbath this morning, 21 species in the yard all told. New winter arrivals included our first American Goldfinch and a 1st winter male Baltimore Oriole. At one point there were 4 Yellow-rumped Warblers having a bath together and then later we had 6 Chipping Sparrows splashing around. Our Chippy flock has increased to 26 birds. One of the Pine Siskins remained and we had 4 species of woodpecker. The best bird for me though was a Blue-headed Vireo, which sang for a while and then issued its witch cackle call repeatedly from Bill's Oak tree. I fixed the Birdcam on the birdbath before I went to work...the following pics were the highlights during our absence.
