My new digiscoping adapter arrived yesterday and I got to try it out for the first time this morning. I had been using the British made Eagle Eye Optic digimount adapter but it won't fit my new chunky 20X wide angle lens on my Kowa scope. After several unsuccesful attempts to get a new insert for that adapter from Eagle Eye, I decided to buy the LE2-Plus which is made by a fella here in the states. It's actually very similar to the Eagle Eye adapter and is equally easy to use. I hooked up my CP4500 and waited for some birds to visit the birdbath.
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Chipping Sparrow
I am quite pleased with the initial results. Later on I lead a birdwalk to Piney Z and had a good time. The pair of Bald Eagles were on show as well as a small raft of Ring-necked Ducks. Mixed in with them were 3 Ruddy Ducks. The highlight for me was a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, my 243rd Leon County lifer.
