After nervously waiting a week to see if this white crowned sparrow was still up at cley, i could finally relax! IT WAS. We didnt leave early (9am) Got up there at about 11 arrived and got the sparrow, showing wonderfully, not on the pathway but in a bush across the road! It then dissapeared. we left and moved on to salthouse. The 40+ snow and the 1+ lapland bunting were showing down to 4ft, bloody good views! We left and then the snow goose came on up near wells. Managed to get that plus about 10,000 pink feet, they then all flew off and headed for holkham to roost. We arrived and it was getting dark, we didnt have enough time to walk to the hind, so we stood on a raised bank to view some of the geese. A Ross's goose was sitting amoungst them, not the best view i have ever had of a ross's i must say! Other than having about 30/40,000 pink feet come in we also was treated to 14 woodcocks coming out from there roost site in the pines, some singly and some in pairs. What an adventful day we had!
