Default Bluebird on Back in Bath

Iím looking for some clarification on something I saw (or thought I saw). I was watching an Eastern Bluebird in a bath, and it looked to me that he was flipping over onto his back. I have never seen that before. Is that common? Is it even physically possible? Has anyone else seen this type of behavior?
    Thanks very much!

Hi mikemike and welcome to the forum. Sorry for delay in replying. I'm afraid I haven't heard about this behaviour before. Any bird in a birdbath may vigorously bathe and try to get water on their back which I suppose may involve it trying to turn on to its back. Do you have bluebirds in your yard? Best, Andy
