BBC Wildlife Magazine has an article about the proposed re introduction of White tailed Eages into East Anglia. this month The project hs been dropped because of fears that it may hunt Bitterns, which as we know are in serious decline however.
If we get more overwintering Eagles and if they do start breeding what then?
Overwintering Eagles are increasing and are normally juveniles and we also have an increase in Bitterns from the Continent in the winter (But not that many) I have studied the feeding patterns of these White tailed Eagles especially during the 1999/ 2000 vist by a first winter bird in Coastla Suffolk. It mainly fed on Carrion and or Rabbits, I did see it try and catch a Coot.

I wonder, Is this a cop out to appease those against the project?
