i saw a bird whilst on Butser Hill in Hampshire the other day. buster hill is a chalk hill, and is primarly a heathland habitat. The bird was pale brown in colour and slightly larger then a blackbird in size. it flight was swallow-like, almost floppy and lazy, and was flying maybe 3-4 meters from the ground. it then hovered for around 5-6 seconds before swooping down to land on the ground. thick grass cover ment i couldnt locate the bird once it had landed.
Could someone please help me in identifying this bird as i am really interested to know what i saw!
Thanks in advance, James
