Yet more ID help please
I have just come back from Mallorca again and have got some more ID problems (but have tried to come up with sensible ideas - I hope). Can anyone help - hopefully the pics are better than my usual!!
Pic 1 : I am guessing Squacco Heron - Juvenile??
Pic 2 : Booted Eagle - based on translucent trailing edges and "headlights" - the sun was behind me not behind the bird.
Pic 3 : ??Juv Night Heron
Pic 4 : ??Juv Ringed Plover - white forehead continuous with stripe above eye.
Pic 5 : ???? Juv Purple Gallinule
Pic4 was taken in the Tramuntana - the rest were all at Albufera
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

The raptor looks O.K. for Booted Eagle, but the "contra jour" lighting makes I.D. features difficult to see.
#4 is, I think, a juvenile Little Ringed Plover (note the pale orbital ring).
The rest are correct.

I'd say you were right about all of those, except that Number 4 is an adult Little Ringed Plover.

Had another look and would probably agree with you Graham. The photo is not very good quality and the colour is rather washed out - my initial impression was that the orbital ring was not pronounced enough for an adult, the black "forehead" band was indistinct, and I rather imagined that the "collar" was incomplete. However, I cannot see any pale margins to scapulars, etc. to confirm juvenile.
Worn adult female?

Thnaks guys for that info - I am pleased that I was correct on 80% of the IDs.
