It isn't a duckling,it is a wader chick.
I am no expert but I guess it is some type of Plover?? What breeding species occur in the same area?

I would say Kentish or Little Ringed Plover, most likely the latter.

In my guide Birds of Egypt and the Middle East it states that the Little Ringed Plover is "....Mainly a scarce summer migrant through Egypt, where it is also a rare breeder in the north on the margins of fresh water rivers and lagoons....."
