I have seen lots of Booted 'seagull'Eagles in France including many pale phase birds
and certainly structurally the Guernsey record of possible Booted looks
very similar to Booted I have seen in the Alpilles north of the Camargue
near the Rhone delta with a minimum of 60 pairs of Booted recorded in 2007 in the Departement of Loiret alone around Orleans not far from Guernsey and
even Therese was equipped with a satellite transmitter in 2007 which you can follow on:-
at least 300 pairs are watched in France some near Guernsey spreading their range north fast now towards the UK. I expect more to be recorded soon in the years to come in the UK and of course the islands in the Channel where my colleagues join me following STE's towards Ushant, the Channel Isles and Scilly.Short-toed join Booted now as birds which can turn up on Ushant south of the Scillies. So Scilly birders in the Scilly season here is one to look for!
