    Default Backyard visitor

    Picture taken today from a garden, in Finland.
    This bird seemed quite fidgety, it took me many attempts before I managed to get this (rather blurry) photo.

    I don't recall seeing this one frequently but there's something familiar about it. I can't quite identify it myself, but it's probably a common species?

    It's a female brambling, which will migrate south soon at your latitude, to me it's a winter bird.

    No wonder that it seemed familiar. Chaffinches (Fringilla coelebs) are quite common in this area. I might've seen bramblings before, but overlooked them...
