In north-western France the glacial easterlies are producing much in the way of interesting birdlife.
Arnaud le Nevé, In the Bay of Douarnenez in western Brittany yesterday saw, an American Herring Gull at Ris on the beach there, also an adult Ring-billed Gull on the beach at Trezmalaouen, 15 Velvet Scoter at the haven of Ty Mark and cherry on the cake the over wintering Wallcrereper at its usual location at the Pointe of Talagrip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the Camargue many raptors including Bonellis Eagle and Booted Eagle plus Spotted Eagle.
At St Marie de la Mer two Mediterranean Shags desmarestii are present.
Many interesting birds are around the Crau semidesert near M....ille east of the Camargue and also in the Camargue including Slender-billed Gull, Spoonbills, Cranes, Black Storks plus interesting variety of Warblers like Sardinian near the coast.I hope to go down later to do some ringing with colleagues at Tour du Valat!
