This post is not one of my usual "What in the World?' games. I am genuinely confused by my this bird. I’m sure it must be a Tropical Mockingbird, but it looked different enough to cause me to wonder and ask questions. I'm in St Lucia, West Indies and have seen and heard T. Mockingbirds often. This one sounded like a Mockingbird, but it had a yellow throat and dark breast. I didn't see any yellow flowered trees in the area I was (Pigeon Island Park), but maybe it picked up color elsewhere? (But why is it not on the chin?)I will post a photo of one of the 'normal' T. Mockingbirds I've seen and then post some of the bird in question. Does anyone have some insight for me?
The last one is very blurry, but I include it because the bill was hidden in the first shot. I took the one showing his back as an after-thought at quite a distance.
