This is my first post, but it may be interesting to some out there. This afternoon we spotted a beautiful Bullock's Oriole on our cherry tree near a finch feeder. The interesting thing is that it is in Iredell County, North Carolina. I know sightings here have been rare, though a few have been seen in the past couple years. He sat very quietly on a branch for some time and then flew off. We hope to see him again tomorrow. Could this unusual occurrence have anything to do with the unusually warm weather (high 60-low70) for mid Feb. in NC?
