Hello Everyone, Ive just joined and look forward to the banter about my retirement passion (spotting). Had to do something , so I moved up North of Toronto Ontario Canada and have found many life birds in my own forest around my retirement residence. Latest was a northern Hawk owl who wintered here due to some avid photographers from Toronto giving a mouse or two every day to continue their passion of photography ( must admit right or wrong it was an experience to watch them wave the live mouse and then toss it 6 feet away and to have it swoop down and take it awy to a wire above and chow down. Many of our far north birds have made the trip to civilization due to starvation due to extreme weather. The past two years has been brutal. I'm planning a trip to Texas apr 11-18 any suggestions. My wife wants some beach and I want the birding. Is there a compromise ? I was in Arizona last month and had a blast with roadrunners and cactus wrens and dozens of life birds from the west. Forgive my Canadian geography and lack of knowledge of the southern coast of texas but where would you stay to have the compromise. The Area ,The city, The hotel. Any thing would help.
