Went to Carsington resevoir (derbyshire) yesterday, was really busy so wasnt much viewable, but There were plenty of house martins nesting around the visitor centre, and the rspb shop had a swaro scope set up on the nest, i took the opportunity to get some digiscoped photos, I did not have my scope with me. Had to bump the iso up but was pleased with them. This is really the first time I have managed to photograph them and have acceptable results. Went down to the wildlife centre, and a first for me, there was a Black headed gull chick which decided to plop into the water from the raft, managed a pic of this one too.
The others of note, which i didnt get to photograph, 1 wigeon, 1 gadwall and a pair of Red crested pochard.
Surrounded by willow warblers and chiffchaffs, decided to look for dragonflies, not one did i see! But plenty of Azure Damselflies.
