Found this warbler at Fife Ness on 17/05/09 in a tired condition and obviously wanting to rest. It moved it's bill as if wanting to sing/call, but unfortunately no sound was actually heard. When it did move it very obviously "pumped" it's tail when moving slowly through the bush. The only
other warbler present nearby was a singing Chiffchaff. The bird in the attached pictures did not seem to resemble a "classic" Chiffchaff, but was more like a Willow Warbler in plumage tones. However, it did not look just right for Willow Warbler either. Points of interest were the primary projection, bill colour, leg colour, weak supercilium, overall plumage tones and slightly "capped" appearance. It has intrigued me since and any comments would be gratefully received.
