    Default Turtle Doves

Saw my second singing Turtle Dove of august today in the Waveney Valley.
since May they have been scarce. Why sing now? I expect they will return to Africa without breeding. Still nice to hear them.

Found 10 over summering adult Mute Swans a couple of Blackcaps and a Great crested Grebe sitting on eggs.

Last week in Pas-de-Calais, NE France, Turtle Doves were still singing strongly. Then again, Swifts were still screaming in packs around presumed nesting sites, whereas here in Hampshire at least the local birds are pretty much gone and migrants are coming through.
