I.D help please!
Hi guys, got a couple of birds i could do with some i.d. help with again.
My first thought on the first is reed warbler due to location and the fact that there were others around. However it doesent look drab and brown enough, and the beak looks too short (although i realize the position of the head doesent help this)
The second i'm sure is blindingly obvious but just cannot place it at all!
P.S these were taken this morning at frencham ponds in surrey, which has a mixture of pond and heath habitat.

How about Chiffchaff for the first and the second looks more Willow Warbler-ish.

Agree with Phil, Chiffchaff for the first but haven't a clue on the second - could be anything 'warblerish'.

Thanks guys, thats probably one of the more colourful chiffchaffs i have seen, most tend to be almost totally brown round here. I agree the second one may be hard to be sure about the i.d. I took it whilst i was very distracted by what i thought was a Firecrest, but to my disappointment when i got back i learned that male Goldcrests have orange fringes to their crests. That will teach me for getting excited with me poor knowledge and i.d. skills
