There is currently a thread on BF about the I.D. of a Northern Wheatear ssp:
The two photos clearly show a bog standard O. oenanthe, but the O.P. (who thought it might be a Whinchat!!) had been told it could be the race O. leucorhoa. There are subsequent posts querying the status of leucorhoa.
This shot was taken on 25th September 2007 and I have identified it as a 1st winter female Greenland (leucorhoa) Wheatear. It was no bulkier than the numerous other Northern Wheatears (males, females and juveniles) which were with this bird, but the colour of the breast and belly made it stand out like a sore thumb.
