Tuesday was a great day (at long last). Still air combined with sunshine.
During our dog walk we came across a Cormorant fishing close to the old railway embankments on Hayling Island. Usually they fish well out in the harbour, out of reach of my dslr.
Here are a few shots taken.
With the tide coming in, this bird expects the fish to arrive.
It was not disappointed and dives.
Obviously pleased with itself it surfaces with its prize.
Unfortunately, it turned its head as it swallowed the fish but when it turned round it had an obvious lump in its throat.
