Apologies for posting such a common bird but I was pleased to capture this image of a male swan defending its territory. The lighting was good and the wing feathers have been illuminated from behind. The head was in the shade however and had to be brightened using curves.
The swan's target were two cygnets that had just flown in to the Hermitage stream estuary. It's fscinating to see the way the swan creates this posture to make it look much larger and the way it pushes itself along in the water with it's strong legs.
