Last Saturday i found a little owl sitting less than 2metres from the little owl box i made for it. I was very lucky to be able to photograph it and i have attached the best one to this post.

I hope he goes on to use the nesting box.

Great news moorve, and quite an achievement. BUT, you might live to regret it if they do actually nest in your garden. I have two pairs nesting on my land, one pair in a ruined farm building and another in a dead tree in my garden very close to the house. The latter are VERY noisy during mating and while fending off 'incomers' when feeding young. Some nights it sounds as though we have a dozen cats fighting in the garden.
Nevertheless, a great privilege to have this (or any!) species nesting in your garden. Although they are mainly insectiverous, I have spent many happy hours watching them pulling worms out of the lawn at dawn after a shower of rain.

I can concur at the noise, and also from the young when begging for food, but well worth putting up with.
