'Undescribed' pytillia in Djibouti
Images by Houssein Rayaledh of an ‘undescribed’ pytillia on the Goda Massif, Djibouti have been posted on the World Rarities gallery, with the instructions to see a description in the ‘ABC Bulletin Vol5 No1.’ . Can anyone please give me any extra information about this bird?

It's mentioned under the "name" flavicaudata in a certain book you illustrated. As is well known (see papers, e.g. by Bob Payne, and Mary LeCroy), flavicaudata, which the bird was "named" by Geoff & Hilary Welch, has no taxonomic validity because the name was not created under the articles of the ICZN code.

Indeed it is in a book I helped illustrate - it would have been more embarassing if I had illustrated it as well. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of flavicaudata - I did not recgnise it from the poor photos.
