A week ago, whilst clearing a very overgrown patio, next door,I found a snake coiled up under the rubbish that was asumed to be hybernating;then thought perhaps dead & placed on a shed with a stick;later put on a piece of paper & traced round & drawn,& lenght worked out as thirty inches;looked up an Adders markings in a book(Browser was down.)Maybe five hours,& I suddenly realised it was rubber. A child must have thrown it down from the balcony years ago & it got weathered! I once found a lot of Toads under a log nearbye,by The Great West Road. The occupant had been an aged cripple.
Apparently the Grass Snake is nearly twice as long as an Adder; would it be able to constrict one?
