Bayshore Summer is the second in Dunne's series focusing on the seasons of the year. This one focuses on the New Jersey Delaware Bay shore.
Unsurprisingly, it's a great read. This is, after all, Pete Dunne, one of the best authors that I've ever read. But I must say I was a little disappointed that birds didn't play a larger role, as they did in the series' first volume, Prairie Spring. However, Dunne's main goal with the series seems to be getting people to not just observe, but to really know and interact with the natural world. And that comes through loud and clear.
And thus, it is very much worth reading, even if you've never set eyes on the Jersey bayshore.
